Marathon Man chooses Three Peaks Challenge!

For anyone wishing to complete the Three Peaks Challenge read Richard Walsh's account as he raised a staggering £570 for our charity this September!

We managed to complete the '24 hour three peak challenge' in 23hrs 14mins!

We were very fortunate in that the weather was good to us throughout each mountain.

Traffic was also kind and we only encountered a few diversions, traffic jams, etc.

The actual climbing part was obviously the hard part as we had to set a good pace unaware of how long each climb would take us. We ended up coming down Ben Nevis in the dark with our headtorches on and after the 6 hour drive to Scafell Pike ended up climbing that at 3:50am!

Fatigue was starting to kick in by the time we arrived at Snowdon but we knew we had to press on with 4hrs 30mins left on the clock! Snowdon proved to be tough going with a very steep ascent but after spending 10-15mins at the summit decided to make sure there were no last minute hitches and start the descent!

I must admit that it was a lot harder than I expected and it really drained everything out of me at some points. But I was very happy and proud to have done it in the end considering the average climb for each mountain was 6 hours!
