CHARLOTTE GOES 'BEAR' FOR POSTNATAL DEPRESSION SUFFERERS

'A huge thank you to all the mums and dads who helped with our first charity collection in September at Morrison's Supermarket. The charity collected over £500 and Bobby Bear was a big winner with the children.'

Successful Skydive 6 February 2008.

At that moment you jump 13,500ft out of a plane into the blueness of open sky, it is truly the most exhilarating, exciting, and nerve wracking feeling in the world. The sensation of free fall gives you such an adrenalin rush that when the parachute is pulled, you want to fall for ever. It feels like flying! .

Matt successfully completed the Dublin Marathon in 3 hours and 40 mins raising £800 for the charity. A huge thank you to Matt for all his help.

The Sky's The Limit !

The extraordinary peace that comes as you begin to float to earth accompanied by the breath-taking views, leaves you feeling so lucky to be alive. It was at this moment that I thought about all those women who have postnatal illness and the crippling symptoms with which they cope. Then I screamed with joy at being alive and well to help those mums still suffering

As I landed, I saw my husband’s face light up with pride and love. Eight years ago after my three suicide attempts, he believed he had lost his wife and soul mate forever. I ran as fast as I could to him and screeched with the delight of the experience. Then I watched him jump next and marvelled at this tiny speck in the sky as it got larger and larger until a human form could be distinguished. The beauty of the colourful parachutes racing towards the earth will stay with me forever. ‘We did it!’ Husband and wife, two best friends skydiving together raising public awareness about Hertfordshire Postnatal Illness Support. £1500 has been raised so far with donations arriving daily to enable the teams of support mums and support dads continue the essential charity work. On behalf of all the trustees, we would like to thank all our official sponsors as well as everyone who has supported our skydive. To those people who have already asked would we do it again…you bet your life we would!
