About Hertfordshire Postnatal Illness

In a bid to help mums who suffer from postnatal illness (PNI) in Hertfordshire, a specialist support service was set up in September 2003. The voluntary service was created by mums who had experienced PNI and wanted to provide first hand knowledge and support for those women who were ill. Sixteen months later Hertfordshire Postnatal Illness Support had gained charitable status. Please click here to read our stories.

Our services

Telephone Support:

An ill mum may choose to speak with a support mum who has had PNI and recovered. She can offer the ill mum reassurance and support. A Dad can also contact one of the support dads who has experienced coping with the effects of PNI.

Group Meetings:

Monthly group meetings take place on an evening to provide space away from the home, babies and family. The group meets in a home setting to provide an informal space for discussion.

E-Mail Support:

Our charity is committed to supporting both the ill mum and the dad at this difficult time.
